Pringle Swithces

Below are some components of a Pringle Switch we recently refurbished. There was very little arcing on the makeup portions, but the pivots were in bad shape from mechanical wear. The customer sent in the effected parts to be serviced. We disassembled the movable and stationary bolt up areas, cleaned and filled all the gouged portions, and then silver plated all the copper. The resulting pieces were the same, if not better than brand new parts.

Mallory 8CC Electrical Contacts

Here are some movable and stationary Mallory 8CC Electrical Contacts. We often repair these complete with silver plating. The particular set seen here was used in Lexington Fire Pump, circa 1948. The customer sent them in thinking we would have to make brand new ones based on the old burned up parts. While we could have made new versions, the older parts were salvageable. This resulted in a faster turn around time and saved the customer money.

The first shot is how the contacts looked when they came to WW Components, and the second shot shows the exact same contacts after we refurbished them.

General Electric FKD Contact Set

This is one of the most common types of contacts we work on; the electrical contacts from a General Electric FKD oil circuit breaker. The set above is how they generally come in to our shop. Thirty-six stationary contacts and six small arcing contacts in their aluminum housings and six movable rods make up the set. We completely disassemble, repair the contacts with the proper silver tungsten, and reassemble so they're ready for instillation. Below are the same contacts after we repaired them...
